What Is Gout Arthritis?
Gout arthritis is a type of inflammatory arthritis caused by the buildup of uric acid crystals in the joints.
It usually develops suddenly and causes intense pain, swelling, redness, and warmth in the affected joint. The greater toe is most commonly affected, but gout can also involve the ankles, knees, feet, wrists, fingers, and elbows.
Without proper management, repeated gout attacks may lead to chronic joint damage and reduced mobility.

How Ayurveda Understands It
Vatarakta
In Ayurveda, gout arthritis is commonly correlated with Vatarakta, a condition caused by the interaction of aggravated Vata Dosha and Rakta (blood).
Improper diet, sedentary lifestyle, impaired Agni (digestive and metabolic strength), and accumulation of metabolic waste products may contribute to the development of symptoms such as severe joint pain, swelling, redness, and inflammation.

Plan
Aahar • Aushadhi • Vihar
Ayurvedic management focuses on understanding the individual's Prakriti (body constitution), Vikriti (current imbalance), digestive strength, lifestyle, and overall health. A personalized treatment plan may include Ayurvedic medicines, dietary guidance, lifestyle modifications and Panchakarma therapies.
Aahar • Aushadhi • Vihar
After understanding the root cause, our Ayurveda expert applies the Trisutra principles to restore Tridosha balance and improve Agni.
Aahar (Diet)
A personalized diet plan — Pathya (what to eat) and Apathya (what to avoid) — is advised during consultation.
Aushadhi (Medicine)
Ayurvedic medicine formulations, based on the root-cause analysis of the condition, are prescribed to patients.
Vihaar (Lifestyle)
Meditation, Marma Chikitsa and other lifestyle actions are advised as per the condition.
Panchakarma (Personalized Therapy)
Shirodhara, Nasya, Shiroabhyanga, Shiropichu and Urdhvang Abhyanga are advised as per the condition.
Many People Start Taking Herbs Such As:
Ashwagandha, Giloy (Guduchi), Triphala, Guggulu, Shatavari, Shankhpushpi, Brahmi
…or other herbal formulations and Ayurveda-based supplements, after watching social media videos, reading online articles, or on the advice of friends and relatives.
However, Ayurveda does not recommend taking medicines without proper root-cause analysis.
