What Is Osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis and is a degenerative joint disease that occurs when the protective cartilage cushioning the ends of bones gradually wears away.
This leads to joint pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced movement. It commonly affects the knees, hips, hands, and spine.
Symptoms usually develop slowly over time and may worsen with age or prolonged joint use.

How Ayurveda Understands It
Sandhigata Vata
In Ayurveda, osteoarthritis is commonly correlated with Sandhigata Vata, a condition caused primarily by aggravated Vata Dosha affecting the joints.
Ageing, tissue depletion, excessive joint use, previous injuries, and improper lifestyle may contribute to pain, stiffness, crepitus (cracking sounds), and reduced joint function.

Many People Start Taking Herbs Such As:
Ashwagandha, Turmeric, Nirgundi, Dashmoola, Dry Ginger (Shunthi), Eranda (Castor Oil)
…or other herbal formulations and Ayurveda-based supplements, after watching social media videos, reading online articles, or on the advice of friends and relatives.
However, Ayurveda does not recommend taking medicines without proper root-cause analysis.
